God on the Mountain ...When Joan and her family decided to make the journey across the Rocky Mountains from Edmonton to the Okanagan Valley in 1935 in search of work and a better life, probably none of them could imagine
the adventures that lay ahead. Come along on this journey with Joan as she tells of the hardships her parents endured. God on the Mountain is an enduring story of Joan as a young 7 year old girl reliving the memories she had of renewed promise, in a new province and how Faith can change your life forever. |
About the author, Joan LynnJoan Lynn (McKenzie) was born in Edmonton in 1928. In 1935, she and her family made the ‘crossing’ into British Columbia over the Rocky Mountains.
Growing up in the Okanagan Valley, Joan dreamed of meeting her real cowboy, so she headed back East, met and then married Charles “Pete” Lynn in 1952. They resided on a ranch in East-Central Alberta for many years and raised two children. Joan has always had the desire to put pen to paper and start to tell her life stories.
